This morning, I visited the Polynesian Spa, our local mineral pools, for my routine hot swim. These waters are renowned for their healing properties, especially for arthritis and sports injuries. Additionally, some of the pools contain alkaline elements that help maintain youthful- looking skin.
The complex is thoughtfully divided into different sections to cater to various needs. On one side, there are the adults’ pools, where visitors can choose from seven different temperature options. One of these pools is about 15 yards long, providing ample space for pool exercises or socializing with friends. The water temperatures in this section range from 32 to 40 degrees Celsius and contain beneficial minerals such as alkaline, magnesium, and sulphur. Most clients and tourists prefer the outdoor pools, where they can relax and soak up the therapeutic benefits while enjoying the natural surroundings.
For those seeking a more private experience, the spa offers six private pools. These pools can accommodate 2 to 3 people and allow guests to enjoy a peaceful soak at their preferred temperature for 30 to 40 minutes. This option is perfect for those who want to unwind in a serene and private setting.
On the other side of the complex, there are family pools designed for children and parents. This area includes two smaller pools, one set at 37 degrees and the other at 40 degrees. Additionally, there is a larger pool with a slide, maintained at 20 degrees, which provides plenty of space for children and parents to enjoy playful water activities together.
At the back of the complex, you will find the massage and day spa area. Here, visitors can indulge in first-class spa and beauty treatments, making it an ideal spot for complete relaxation and rejuvenation.
After soaking in the hot pools, guests can visit the café for a refreshing coffee, healthy juice, delectable ice cream, or delicious food. The adjacent store offers a wide range of items that tourists might need, including gifts, swimwear, and premium New Zealand beauty products.
